Documenting the construction of one of the worlds most iconic kitchens.

In 2015 Aperture Media & Design was brought on to support the French Laundry's kitchen renovation. The kitchen is the 5th in the restaurant's history and was designed by legendary architect Snøhetta. Before beginning the documentation our team was tasked with creating a social media video to promote the sale of the temporary kitchen. The video posted on Thomas Keller's Facebook Page recieved excellent engagement. The video attracted over 35,000 views and connected prospective buyers to our client.

Construction Documentation

Our team provided weekly documentation services, documenting the progress of construction and capturing key project milestones.

Video walkthrough was provided using cameras mounted on handheld gimbal stabilizers, and aerial drone video was used to capture a birds-eye view of the project. The media was curated into a digital content management system where users could access clips in a week by week format. Periodically, more advanced videos were produced to capture the progress in a sharable and consumable format.
